Product Care
Since 100% cotton is a natural fiber, it breathes and moves with you—but it also reacts to how it’s treated. Here is the definitive guide to keeping your undershirts soft, stretchy, and the perfect shade.
The Care Guide
High-quality jersey knit is an investment in your daily comfort. To keep the spice in your shirts, follow these steps.
A Note on Natural Shrinkage
Because these shirts are 100% jersey knit cotton without synthetic fillers (like polyester or spandex), expect a small amount of natural shrinkage after the first wash. We’ve designed our sizing to account for this slight "settling" of the fibers. If the shirt feels a tiny bit roomy right out of the box, don't worry—the first wash will dial in that perfect, second-skin fit.
1. The Wash
-
Temperature: Use cold or warm water. Avoid hot cycles, as high water temperatures can cause the cotton to contract more than intended.
-
No Bleach: Never use chlorine bleach. It is too aggressive for natural jersey and will break down the fibers and ruin the specific pigment of your shade.
2. The Dry
-
Preferred: Hang dry. This is the best way to maintain the shirt's elasticity and ensure it lasts for years.
-
Optional: Tumble dry on low. If you prefer the dryer, keep the heat setting low to prevent the fabric from becoming brittle or over-shrinking.
3. The Finish
100% cotton jersey is famously soft, but it can show its natural texture after a wash.
-
Heat is your friend here: Use a steamer or an iron on high to smooth out the fabric. This will restore the "crisp" feel and help the shirt disappear completely under your clothes.
Pro-Tip: To keep your shades—from the light Pink Salt to the deep Vanilla—looking vibrant, wash your undershirts with similar colors. This prevents "color bleed" from denim or darker laundry from dulling your perfect match.
